5@7 Koumbit : Quoi de neuf avec Drupal? Un compte-rendu de DrupalCon Copenhague

DrupalCon Copenhague est certainement la dernière grande conférence à avoir lieu avant le lancement de Drupal 7. Cette version est très anticipée par la communauté Drupal. Plusieurs modules populaires seront disponibles sous Drupal 7 dès le premier jour du lancement et de nouveaux modules compatibles apparaissent continuellement sur drupal.org. Koumbit a envoyé un petit groupe de représentants très actifs à cet événement et nous sommes impatients de partager leur expérience avec vous.

Nous serons heureux de vous accueillir ce vendredi 3 septembre, pour échanger sur DrupalCon, en ce premier 5@7 de l'automne. Nous allons faire un retour sur ce qu'on a appris lors de cette conférence, vous présenter l'accueil fait à Ægir par la communauté, discuter de la croissance de la communauté Drupal, et parler des implications de l'apparition de nouveaux modules, tels que Drupal Commerce et l'éventuel Drupal CRM.

Like most of the week, today started on too little sleep and far too early. I walked to the conference centre with Antoine, mostly along a dirt trail through woods and brush. I spent the better part of the morning working on uc_hosting, and trading cracks with Antoine and Adrian across the table. The HTML5 keynote was entertaining and informative, though I ended up listening to it out in the main hall while working.

It was a tough second morning for us, but things really picked up for the keynote. Rasmus' presentation consisted of a fairly thorough overview of the weakest points in Drupal core for performance, and showed off some of the neat features of php 5.3. I learned a lot, and will probably need to rewatch his presentation a couple of times to understand everything.

This busy first conference day has my head spinning. I arrived in time to catch the tail end of the commerce in drupal session, and my first impression is that it looks like Ubercart. My first full session was the BoF on Drupal for NGOs and not-for-profits; a rich topic deserving its own blog post (later this week). I met a fellow from Oxfam International and he expressed interest in working with us, possibly for an Ægir deployment, and somehow got signed up to organise a BoF on thursday.
