Report back from CiviCRM Code Sprint, Albany, NY, 26-28 october 2011

I really enjoyed my time in Albany. The CiviCRM team are a bunch of kind and humble people who really make you feel at home. They clearly know their stuff and I learned a lot.

On the last day of the sprint, Mathieu and I presented our work on Aegir and provision_civicrm. Lobo was very interested in a blog post on our offering and business plan, to share with the civicrm community. In fact, he asked me to get on that again today over irc.

Cooperative Regional Economies & Radical Human Resources

Here are my workshop notes from day 3 of the EWCD. Before I get into that, though, I want to take a moment to mention that I met with Tom Pierson of North American Students of Cooperation. I will likely present at their fall conference, and Tom will be up in Quebec city for 5 days of international coop conferencing in October.

Building Co-operative Regional Economies

Democratic Structures & Inclusive Board Practices, Oh My!

Here are my workshop notes from day 2 of the EWCD. Be sure to checkout Shane's report backs on the keynote and plenary sessions and the workshops he attended, too.

Technologies of Collaboration and Cooperation

For me lunch is such an interesting time for collaborating with people about what they do and realising that there are so many different structures to building a cooperative - and so many varieties of cooperatives as well.

I felt inspired to have met a cleaning cooperative of five latino womyn. They established themselves as a cooperative to ensure better pay, benefits, and support one another. It was important for them to organise together and become their own bosses to ensure that they weren't being mistreated.
